come on in, the water is fine

began baby blanket for my niece.
made design and production decisions.
     did some math.

8 weeks before christening.
actually nine, but a week for cushion, and finishing...
120" of panels to knit divided by 8 weeks.
15" per week.
3" per weekday. in garter stitch.
decided the project was quite ambitious for a beginning knitter.

doing my garter stitch for the blue panels in purl.
and garter stitch for the gray panels in knit.
the change should provide some
b-r-e-a-k in the monotony.
and plenty of practice with each individual stitch.

entrenchment and saturation
I will emerge from this with a passion for more knitting
or will vomit at the thought of it
from over-exposure.

searched for groups on Ravelry.
local ones
ones in places I used to live
     (oh, I know!)
groups that have podcasts...

Y Knit - genetically speaking
I normally would have passed this up,
based on the title alone,
thinking it was a self-congratulatory, Y-chromosome-centric podcast.

     it is not.

Y Knit is quite knitting focused. intelligent. campy. clever.
lots of pop-culture references, puns and fun!
subscribed, downloaded latest episode...

immersion.
